Chi siamo
Northern Horizon è nata nel 2017 a Tromsø da un piccolo gruppo di guide, fotografi e appassionati di outdoor con un obiettivo condiviso: offrire agli altri la possibilità di vivere il Nord come lo vediamo noi. Ognuno di noi è arrivato a questo lavoro attraverso un legame personale con l'Artico - attratto dalla luce, dal silenzio, dai paesaggi e dalla sensazione di qualcosa più grande di noi. Quello che era un progetto nato per passione è diventato una società di guide professionale, ma il nostro impegno resta personale e concreto.
Crediamo che la Norvegia del Nord sia uno dei luoghi più straordinari della Terra - non solo per l'aurora boreale o gli scenari spettacolari, ma per i momenti di quiete nel mezzo: la neve che scricchiola sotto i piedi, la calma di un fiordo, il calore di un falò condiviso. Con i nostri tour vogliamo rallentare, creare spazio per una connessione autentica e guidare i nostri ospiti con la stessa curiosità e lo stesso rispetto che ci hanno portati fin qui. Oggi Northern Horizon è ancora guidata dalle stesse persone che l'hanno fondata, unendo anni di esperienza a una passione mai svanita.

La missione di Northern Horizon è creare viaggi che abbiano un senso nella natura artica - esperienze che vanno oltre il turismo e diventano qualcosa di più personale, più autentico e più memorabile. Puntiamo sulla qualità, non sulla quantità, e scegliamo di lavorare con piccoli gruppi per dare a ogni ospite tutta la nostra attenzione e lo spazio per entrare davvero in sintonia con il paesaggio.
Ogni tour è pensato con cura e intenzione, plasmato dal nostro profondo rispetto per la natura e dagli anni di esperienza nella regione. Non corriamo dietro alle liste di cose da vedere né agli attimi fugaci: ci prendiamo il nostro tempo, seguiamo il ritmo della natura e lasciamo che l'Artico si riveli a modo suo. Che sia l'attesa silenziosa dell'aurora boreale o la semplice bellezza di una foresta innevata, crediamo che le esperienze migliori siano quelle che si dispiegano con lentezza e sincerità.
La sostenibilità è al centro di ciò che facciamo. Ci impegniamo a ridurre al minimo il nostro impatto sull'ambiente e a preservare la bellezza fragile dei luoghi che visitiamo. Come guide non ci sentiamo solo narratori o fotografi, ma custodi di questa terra - responsabili di proteggere ciò che rende questa regione così speciale.

2017
Il debutto
Siamo partiti da Tromsø con un obiettivo semplice: condividere la magia del Nord con tour piccoli, sinceri e immersi nella natura. Quella che era una passione è diventata presto una missione.
2018
Gli ospiti
La nostra prima stagione completa di aurora boreale è stata un successo. Con più ospiti e una squadra in crescita, abbiamo ampliato la flotta e guidato viaggiatori da oltre 30 paesi.

La tua sicurezza è al centro di tutto ciò che facciamo. Dal momento della partenza fino al ritorno, ogni parte della tua esperienza è pianificata con cura e responsabilità. Le nostre guide sono professionisti esperti - pienamente formati in sopravvivenza artica, primo soccorso e gestione delle emergenze. Seguiamo rigorosi protocolli di sicurezza per ogni condizione meteo, monitoriamo da vicino le previsioni e adattiamo percorsi e programmi quando serve, per garantire il tuo benessere in ogni momento. Al volante ci sono solo i conducenti più esperti e affidabili, pronti ad affrontare le strade invernali con sicurezza e precisione. I nostri veicoli sono sottoposti a manutenzione regolare, dotati di equipaggiamento di sicurezza e progettati per comfort e affidabilità nelle condizioni artiche. Che tu stia inseguendo l'aurora boreale o camminando nella neve profonda, sei in buone mani - con una squadra che prende la tua sicurezza sul serio quanto la tua esperienza.
Responsabili per natura
Crediamo che l'aurora debba ispirare, non lasciare il segno sull'ambiente. L'Artico non è solo il nostro luogo di lavoro: è un ambiente vivo, che richiede cura e attenzione. Per questo su ogni tour seguiamo rigorosi principi Leave-No-Trace, montando i campi solo nelle aree autorizzate e lasciando sempre il paesaggio come lo abbiamo trovato. Evitiamo gli sprechi inutili, usiamo tazze riutilizzabili e materiali compostabili, e acquistiamo gli snack per il falò da produttori locali ogni volta che è possibile. Oltre alla terra stessa, riconosciamo l'importanza del rispetto culturale. Collaboriamo attivamente con imprese di proprietà sami e sosteniamo le tradizioni indigene nelle zone che attraversiamo. Il nostro obiettivo è condividere il Nord proteggendo ciò che lo rende speciale - per l'ambiente, per le comunità locali e per i viaggiatori di domani.

Our guide, Max, was very passionate and shared a lot of interesting information about the auroras. Thank you, Max! Unfortunately, during the past couple of days the weather wasn’t in our favor because there were always clouds. We spent quite a lot of time traveling to one specific location, and when we arrived it was still quite cloudy. After that we traveled back, and we were only able to see a faint aurora for about 10 minutes because the peak had already passed. Nevertheless, the sausage and the campfire were very nice and made the experience enjoyable. It’s important to remember that this is a natural phenomenon, so of course it can’t be guaranteed. If the skies are clear, I would definitely recommend this tour. The whole experience with the campfire and everything else makes it special.

Northern Horizon turned out to be a great pick for Northern Lights and my wife and I are glad we went with them! We were able to get Linda as our guide and Martin as our driver. They were both fantastic and made a great duo for a group of 16 people. Not too big and small enough to feel taken care of by the two. Got picked up promptly at the meeting location. We had good skies above us so we didn’t have to drive drive too far, maybe an hour and 15 minutes. There is a bathroom break before finding a great spot for northern lights, but the whole bus went and was excited to see the lights so we skipped it and gave us more time to chase the lights. Linda found a potential spot, had us wait in the bus until she felt is was a great spot for all of us. For the next 4 hours the bus group was out somewhere in the woods taking pics and waiting. We got an amazing Auroras that night and we were all happy. Even Linda was super happy and amazed by the solar activity. She was more than willing to take professional picture for all of us and she set the the camera for the best shots. Those photos are free download unlike other companies charging you for them. This is partly what separates Northern Horizon from other companies. After Linda took pics and the lights “recharged” Martin had already set up a campfire for us with chairs. Additionally, anyone who wanted a thermal suit, he was more than willing to provide and help you put it on while Linda took pics of us. Again a great duo. During the camp fire, we had hot chocolate and tea served to warm us. We had reindeer sausage to cook on the fire and tortilla style bread to wrap around the reindeer sausage along with condiments like ketchup and mustard. They kept us feed and warm for round two of taking photos after another top up of hot drinks and cookies. Linda again took pics of the group and we were able to see northern lights again. What a great night for solar activity. My wife and I were glad Linda decided to stay instead of finding another place to try because essentially, you are looking up and we don’t want to miss any minute to lose the auroras since they are unpredictable. Great and wise recommendation from her. They drop you off at your hotel or close to your Air BnB so we didn’t need to try to find a taxi or uber in the center of town. What a great evening with Linda, Martin and Northern Horizon. Highly recommend them and made everyone feel at ease and we definitely felt we were in good hands. Thank you for the memories!

An absolutely incredible Northern Lights experience! Our guide, Max, was phenomenal. You can immediately tell how deeply he loves his job; his passion is truly contagious. He isn’t just an expert at hunting the Aurora, but also a fantastic storyteller who made the whole trip engaging, warm, and memorable. Despite the terrible, cloudy weather in Tromsø, Max knew exactly where to go and effortlessly found a spot with perfectly clear skies for us to witness the lights. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. If you are in Tromsø and want a guaranteed amazing time chasing the lights, booking a tour with Max is a must. Highly recommended!"

What an incredible experience! Harry (our guide) and Martin (our driver) were absolutely outstanding. Harry kept us constantly updates about the weather and solar activity and explained everything about the Aurora Borealis so clearly. When conditions changed, they didn’t hesitate to drive from Norway all the way to Finland to find clear skies - and it paid off! We saw the northern lights explode and dance with our own eyes. Truly magical. Harry took amazing photos of us, and we ended the night with hot chocolate and sausages in a cosy spot. The tour was extremely well organized and much more exclusive than others. We did the same tour the night before with another company, and this one was by far the best! Yes it’s slightly more expensive - but 100% worth it! A once-in-a- lifetime experience !

Fantastic once in a lifetime experience with incredible auroras sightings. Magical evening around a camp fire with Max, our sympathetic, very knowledgeable and passionate guide. Thank you very much, I can recommand without any hesitation.

It was a great day. We did the Arctic Nature Tour. The guide tells a lot about everything and is enthusiastic. We have been to the most beautiful places. The guide also takes some beautiful pictures of you. A day to never forget! I definitely recommend booking an excursion here
