Northern Norway will surprise you with its unique landscape of fjords, mountains, beaches and picturesque villages.
During this roundt trip of Kvaløya island, we take care of the full package: pictures of you and the landscape, local pastries, hot beverages, a knowledgeable guide and a driver that will show you the most beautiful spots in the area.
We will stop at Ersfjordbotn and Sommarøy to show you as much as possible during the tour. These breaks are also an excellent opportunity for spotting wildlife, like reindeer and sea eagles. Please note that animal sighting is never guaranteed. To keep you warm and comfortable while outside, we provide thermal suits and boots.
To ensure that you have the perfect souvenir from your tour, your guide will send you the photos free of charge the following day.

How is this different from the Arctic Fjord Trip?
This tour stops at both Ersfjordbotn and Sommarøy and takes up to 30 guests in an air conditioned minibus. The Arctic Fjord Trip is capped at 15 guests and goes to Sommarøy only.
Will I see reindeer or sea eagles?
The stops are good places to look for both, and guests often do see them. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.
Do I need my own warm clothing?
Thermal suits and boots are provided so you stay comfortable outside. Bring your own gloves, hat and scarf.
When will I get the photos?
Your guide sends them free of charge the following day, so leave an email address when you book.

Northern Horizon turned out to be a great pick for Northern Lights and my wife and I are glad we went with them! We were able to get Linda as our guide and Martin as our driver. They were both fantastic and made a great duo for a group of 16 people. Not too big and small enough to feel taken care of by the two. Got picked up promptly at the meeting location. We had good skies above us so we didn’t have to drive drive too far, maybe an hour and 15 minutes. There is a bathroom break before finding a great spot for northern lights, but the whole bus went and was excited to see the lights so we skipped it and gave us more time to chase the lights. Linda found a potential spot, had us wait in the bus until she felt is was a great spot for all of us. For the next 4 hours the bus group was out somewhere in the woods taking pics and waiting. We got an amazing Auroras that night and we were all happy. Even Linda was super happy and amazed by the solar activity. She was more than willing to take professional picture for all of us and she set the the camera for the best shots. Those photos are free download unlike other companies charging you for them. This is partly what separates Northern Horizon from other companies. After Linda took pics and the lights “recharged” Martin had already set up a campfire for us with chairs. Additionally, anyone who wanted a thermal suit, he was more than willing to provide and help you put it on while Linda took pics of us. Again a great duo. During the camp fire, we had hot chocolate and tea served to warm us. We had reindeer sausage to cook on the fire and tortilla style bread to wrap around the reindeer sausage along with condiments like ketchup and mustard. They kept us feed and warm for round two of taking photos after another top up of hot drinks and cookies. Linda again took pics of the group and we were able to see northern lights again. What a great night for solar activity. My wife and I were glad Linda decided to stay instead of finding another place to try because essentially, you are looking up and we don’t want to miss any minute to lose the auroras since they are unpredictable. Great and wise recommendation from her. They drop you off at your hotel or close to your Air BnB so we didn’t need to try to find a taxi or uber in the center of town. What a great evening with Linda, Martin and Northern Horizon. Highly recommend them and made everyone feel at ease and we definitely felt we were in good hands. Thank you for the memories!

An absolutely incredible Northern Lights experience! Our guide, Max, was phenomenal. You can immediately tell how deeply he loves his job; his passion is truly contagious. He isn’t just an expert at hunting the Aurora, but also a fantastic storyteller who made the whole trip engaging, warm, and memorable. Despite the terrible, cloudy weather in Tromsø, Max knew exactly where to go and effortlessly found a spot with perfectly clear skies for us to witness the lights. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience. If you are in Tromsø and want a guaranteed amazing time chasing the lights, booking a tour with Max is a must. What an incredible experience! Harry (our guide) and Martin (our driver) were absolutely outstanding. Harry kept us constantly updates about the weather and solar activity and explained everything about the Aurora Borealis so clearly. When conditions changed, they didn’t hesitate to drive from Norway all the way to Finland to find clear skies - and it paid off! We saw the northern lights explode and dance with our own eyes. Truly magical. Harry took amazing photos of us, and we ended the night with hot chocolate and sausages in a cosy spot. The tour was extremely well organized and much more exclusive than others. We did the same tour the night before with another company, and this one was by far the best! Yes it’s slightly more expensive - but 100% worth it! A once-in-a- lifetime experience !

It was a great day. We did the Arctic Nature Tour. The guide tells a lot about everything and is enthusiastic. We have been to the most beautiful places. The guide also takes some beautiful pictures of you. A day to never forget! I definitely recommend booking an excursion here

Both the guide and the driver were amazing. I have find many tours in the past but never felt such warmth. The travel was smooth, the detailed explanation was solid(Max is a geologist, he knows his stuff😅). The light show was something else. We had some very tasty hot chocolate, sausages by the fire and a nice small tour group. Max is also a great photographer. He took some brilliant pictures of the experience. Overall, you have to be a part of this experience. Made my trip totally worth it. Just go for it.

Totally recommend them. They have a job to show you the lights and they take this job extremely seriously. We were there last week and the weather in Tromso was really bad and honestly we lost hopes to see the lights but they drove us all the way into Finland near a beautiful frozen lake where we had campfire and we got to see the lights. Loved their dedication towards their work. Totally go for it.
