1. When is the best time to see the Northern Lights in Tromsø?

Peak Aurora season runs late September – early April, when nights are long and skies are darkest. Northern Horizon operates tours every evening in that window and adjusts routes nightly to follow clear skies.

Our guides achieve a 93 % success rate, but nature has the final word. If the lights don’t appear, we offer a 50 % discount on your next tour (subject to availability) so you get another chance to chase the Aurora.

Dress in thermal layers and waterproof outerwear. We supply Arctic suits, boots, mittens and head-torches at no extra cost, plus blankets and hot drinks around the campfire.
